Product details

The legendary Völkl Mantra and Secret, cornerstones of the All Mountain Freeride series, are transformed for the 24/25 season with the release of the M7 Mantra and Secret 96. These next-generation skis are characterized by increased stability, agility, and maneuverability, offering enhanced versatility for an exhilarating experience both on and off the slopes. In addition to Völkl's proven innovations such as the Tailored Titanal Frame for reduced weight and increased stability, and Tailored Carbon Tips for improved responsiveness, the M7 Mantra and Secret 96 benefit from Völkl's latest innovation, the 4 Radius Drive. Together, these advancements redefine skiing possibilities, setting a new standard for on-piste enjoyment. With the introduction of the M7 Mantra and the new Secret 96, the renowned Bavarian ski manufacturer enters a new era, presenting a generation that embodies Völkl's dedication to innovation, offering an exceptional skiing adventure.

Climate change has presented skiers with unpredictable snow conditions, both on and off-piste. Völkl has taken these factors into account in designing its new All Mountain Freeride models by incorporating innovative technologies like the 4 Radius Drive. These skis offer stability and durability without sacrificing skiing pleasure. The result is an extraordinary skiing experience in varied snow conditions, providing precision, enjoyment, and ease to a broader range of consumers.

  • Revolutionizing turning dynamics: Völkl introduces the 4 Radius Drive

Unlike its predecessor, the M7 Mantra employs the 4 Radius Drive design - an advanced development of the proven 3D Radius Sidecut, a Völkl innovation not yet offered by any other manufacturer. With this technology, Völkl establishes a new benchmark by strategically placing different radii along the ski length to revolutionize turn variability, combining easy maneuverability with unwavering stability. This new design offers maximum versatility for different snow conditions, both on and off-piste. Adding a fourth radius in the front tip area enhances precision and agility on firm snow, significantly increasing maneuverability for short turns.

The ski features four different radii along its length, creating a unique combination of tip precision, resilience, and agility:

  • Tip / R1: To achieve maximum precision and agility, a tighter radius (approximately 20m) is incorporated in the tip, promoting an immediate response to the skier's initial edge movement.

  • Front / R2: The open radius (approximately 40m) in the front part, located between the tip and the ski binding toe piece, enhances the ski's disruption resistance, offering increased stability at higher speeds.

  • Center / R3: A tight radius (approximately 15m) in the camber area provides increased agility, quickly responding to the skier's edge movements, facilitating the energy buildup needed for executing short turns or deep carves.

  • Tail / R4: The moderate radius (approximately 25m) at the ski's end facilitates controlled dynamics suitable for the situation at the end of a turn, providing optimal support for a smooth transition into the next turn.

This design offers great versatility on and off the slopes, allowing skiers to smoothly transition from long to short turns while making the tip more resistant to interference in different snow conditions. Whether in the backcountry or on challenging terrain requiring quick direction changes, the 4 Radius Drive design enhances the performance of these models, known for their exceptional versatility.

  • Tailored Technologies for Enhanced Performance and Durability

Among the ski's construction highlights are Völkl's exclusive Tailored technologies. The Tailored Titanal Frame precisely positions the Titanal frame along the ski's edge, adjusting the frame's width based on the ski length. This not only reduces weight but also enhances agility with less effort. The result is a ski that is easily controllable and responsive to changing conditions, adapting power and stability to the skier's size and weight. Additionally, Tailored Carbon Tips contribute to precise control in various skiing conditions and greater tip agility for quick, short turns. The orientation and thickness of the fibers, combined with their layup angle, allow the ski to accumulate energy with minimal force. For the new models, the carbon fiber layout has been redesigned to optimize tip torsion and stiffness. The integration of these technologies improves ski control and initiates precise turns.

The efficient use of materials, such as Tailored Titanal Frame and Tailored Carbon Tips, exemplifies Völkl's commitment to sustainable development. Furthermore, Völkl's factory in Straubing uses 100% renewable electricity supplied by the local Danube hydroelectric power plant in Kagers. Starting January 1, 2024, the company will begin using CO2 offset gas to further reduce its climate impact emissions and achieve its climate neutrality goal.

As a counterpart to the M7 Mantra, the evolution of the Secret 96 will be part of the Secret All Mountain Freeride line for women starting in the 2024/25 season. Here too, key technologies used in the M7 Mantra are applied: 4 Radius Drive, Tailored Titanal Frame, and Tailored Carbon Tips enhance dynamics, agility, and versatility.
